| Hi everyone, yes Im new, but I have taken the time to read through some of the old posts and the history of whats right and whats wrong.I just wanted to say that anyone thats on here or reading this board is either a closet Steinman fan or loves the guys work openly. I am in the latter catagory. His music and lyrics are brilliant. But just as they are brilliant, so was the man that bought that brilliance to life by his powerful voice, and huge presence on the stage.Steinman and Meatloaf created the magic that is B.O.H together. Take either away from the equation and a piece of the magic is gone. I imagine that it is hard to have a message board going for so long just talking about Jim Steinman, and bless the man, it would be bloody boring too. So I for one can see no harm in talking about anything remotely to do with the man, be it other people covering his songs good or bad, Meatloaf or the multiple Tributes out there that cover Jims Music and Meatloafs Look/Voice. In my readings I noticed some pretty harsh things thrown at some of the posters, and I admit that some of the posts are a little weird. But come on everyone, have you not thought that for some people this may be the only thing they have to communicate through. I just feel that everyone has a right to express there views, and as long as they are doing no harm, let them be. Likewise the critics of Meats voice these last couple of years, come on and give the man a break. Can Lynford Christie still run as fast now? No, the man is older just as Meat is, those vocal chords have served him well, but are not in there prime anymore.Heis not Dorian Grey, so what does everyone expect. So my plea to all of you, is have some tolerance with each other and for the people who gave you the reason for being on this board.Get some interesting threads going again and enjoy the exchanges. | |
