On just a few reads I feel it's about Hook remembering the past, a pirates life of fun and bloodshed. His paradise if you will. That has since changed (no thanks to the lost boys i'd wager) and he'd like to see the rivers run with blood yet again. It sure is about age, as well. I get a very envious vibe out of hook. He knows his death is just around the corner, as is his crew. But somehow these lost boys cheat death, and with that he becomes very jealous, spiteful, and then enraged. I can imagine certain places where the music would change. I could see the Paradise Lost ending being different music than the rest, almost a different song. Similar to Karine's version of Braver which ends up in a different place from where it started. I'll probably write more later, only read it twice and lunch break is ending.... | |
