Devil's Playground

Maybe a bit more thoughts later...

But what I love about the posted lyrics - and what it tells me about the story - is the longing and heartbreak Hook feels for being cast aside by Wendy.

I don't know why, but I've always thought Hook's hatred of Pan wasn't just because of his eternal youth but because he wanted Wendy and she ripped his heart out, chewed it to bits and then covered it in barbeque sauce.

As for the lyrics...the part I can really *hear* is the last bit. The 'Paradise Lost' part. I don't know why but the direction 'soft' only seems a suggestion that gets thrown out the window after the first few notes of it.

Another bit, the part of "plodding in the mud" I think should be "wallowing on the ground". Gives an idea of a fallen angel theme stretching for redemption and hating every last bit of it.

Just some off the top of my head thoughts.
