| Jim, I would like to echo the sentiments expressed by everyone hear about the sneek peek into your creative process. If this is what you can do with stream of consciousness, you're more of a genius tha I have always said. This is a great song. Some of the critiques are also brilliant such as this from Scaramouche. I love the line but I really don't think it fits. No guns in Hook's Pirate Crew. ("So long as there's fortunes in bullets & guns, we'll always be praying for daughters & sons") but it definitely needs it's own song. I also think JSteinfan shows flashes of ingenuity such as with this line "(Welcome To)The Neighborhood of Tombstones Just granite and names", although I would stay truer to your vision and change it to "In the Land of the Tombstones Granite is King. (Yeah, I know, it is silly but more apropos than Welcome to the Neighborhood. JSteinfan, keep up the great work! As for the criticism from Jackster that this song could be three separate songs, I completely disagree. What I have loved best about your work from the past thirty years is how you do not make 3 minute throwawy songs but intricately crafted tales that take a much longer commitment from those of us already spoiled by the riches you have granted us. What I have always told people I discuss your work with is that "Jim tells a great tale, and by God if it takes 10 or 12 minutes to do so, so much the better". I never tire of hearing a Jim Steinman opus. I would not presume to issue forth any corrections. I do think dropping the word "the" from Tombstones are waiting for the names sounds better to me. I think Scaramouche is right on this one. "But as long as the devil's keep fanning the flames, there'll be thousands of tombstones, just waiting for names" But then I am not the poet. Will this show ever reach America? If not, how about a DVD for sale? With a brand new HDTV in my living room, it would make that purchase truly worthwhile.
