Until the time comes when Meat Loaf's albums reach the public domain, they can't really be repackaged altogether because of the record companies. You have bands like The Beatles and Pink Floyd who stuck to, really, 2 labels through-out their career. Look at all the compilations and stuff that they've generated. Then you have Meat, who changes labels for (basically) every album. It gets confusing after awhile... Stoney & Meat Loaf: Motown Bat Out Of Hell, Dead Ringer, Midnight At The Lost And Found: Epic/Cleveland International Bad Attitude, Blind Before I Stop: Arista Back Into Hell, Welcome To The Neighborhood: Virgin/MCA Couldn't Have Said It Better, The Monster Is Loose: Mercury (and something to do with Sanctuary Records? either way they're distributed by Universal.) So...what happens when you try to compile anything? Motown, Epic, Arista, MCA and Mercury ALL have to be involved. It's because of this that I probably won't see a MEAT LOAF: COMPLETE box-set in my lifetime. By the time we're gone, the only Loaf albums that will be remembered are BAT 1 & 2 Sadly. But prove me wrong | |
