Ah, birthday messages are difficult if they're the only time you bother to talk to someone all year... but, Happy Birthday! There, that wasn't so hard.
But was it strong enough? I should try harder.
You are still a powerful force in my life, but on a far rarer basis. I still end up using your songs to explain and demonstrate to people what I'm thinking about the core of every soul in existence. Is that ok? I still think of you as the man who wrote the only real holy guide to humanity we have. I still preach sometimes. But not on a large scale.
This week I used "It Just Won't Quit" to explain how... to some of us... there's no way to tell the difference between feelings of love, and mild to moderate depression. They're very similar! :) And so, the reverse is true too, and you should always be kind to the person you love because they might not be able to tell whether they're in love with you or you're just making them terribly unhappy. And you shouldn't make anyone miserable to ensure they stay with you.
Sometimes I wonder whether I've gone off-road.
"It Just Won't Quit" used to counter abusive relationships? That's completely going off on one. And as such is not quite treating this song with the purity it deserves.
I need to go back to advertising female masturbation through "Good Girls Go To Heaven". Far more pure.
