Not that there's anyone will know what the hell I'm talking about, but... The new Fall Out Boy single came on the radio at work and reminded me; I think there's a Steinman/Meatloaf reference in it. I thought this when I first heard the song a while ago and forgot all about it till I heard it again. The songs called "I'm like a lawyer with the way I'm always trying to get you off (me+you)". And here's the line in question: The best way to make it through with hearts and wrists intact Is to realize that Two out of Three ain't bad. It's got to be a reference to the Meat song. There's no mention of three of anything in the rest of the song and only makes sense if you plug in "I Want you, I need you, but there ain't no way I'm ever gonna love you" Just a pop-culture-ish way a referencing the song. I probably wouldn't be so sure, but I saw some interview a while ago and when one of the guys was asked what they listen to on the road he replies "Massive amounts of Meat Loaf" And the more I listened to The Killers "River Is Wild" the more I'm convinced it was a purposeful concoction of Jim and Bruce. They even say "Godspeed" Question to all: What other artist do you think have done works inspired or influenced by Jim? | |
