Well, I am not going to make any comparisons to any other tributes that I have seen..

This is a wonderful show. It is not a tribute it is a rock opera that I think captures the sense of humour and the rock and roll romance of the original Bat Album. I would dare say that this is the rock opera that they --Steinman and Meat-- would have made in their 20's and I think it is a better concept than the Peter Pan theme Jim is toying with.

The Meatloaf character who is called The Ringer is played by an American Chap named Hollis. He is without a doubt the closest you will get to Meat loaf in his prime, except Hollis is much better looking. Sorry, Meat.

While there is alot of comedy and a story about love etc the Music is sung with intense passion. The Ringer really sells it. The Backing singers are excellent and have their own solo numbers. There is a Eurythimic song and Because The Night By Patti Smith, and a Pat Benatar song.. It's a bit odd that these songs are in the show, but it works..

The singing, the dancing, and the acting are really great. The beginning is especially effective as The Ringer rides onstage on a big Harley Davidson.

The only comments on the negative side about the show would be that the Keyboard player was boring and reading sheet music. I also noted too that the bass player had sheet music, as well. It kind of spoiled the rock element a bit, but the drummer, who is amazing, and the guitar player who looks like Ronnie Wood made up for the other two.

It was well worth the money and what was best about it is that it was a real tribute to Jim and Meat without it being a tribute show. If you know what I mean.

I would definitely recommend this show to you all.

When another one comes to town or nearby I will review their show too..
