The lyric that I sang corresponds with the single/music video version. I couldn't actually sing the version that was in the show. Literally, physically, it wouldn't work. We tried the single version which matches all of the lyrics in my recording. That was much easier, and much more exciting to sing. Everytime I hear the "Phantom" score, I wonder how much of a missed opportunity it really was for Jim. "Phantom", to me, is the ultimate Steinman story. Even more than "Neverland" > One of my favourite lyrics...ever! Especially the opening > lines: > > 'Night-time sharpens, heightens each sensation > Darkness stirs and wakes imagination > Silently the senses, abandon their defenses...' > > The whole lyric could have worked effortlessly in DOTV? > > 'Close your eyes start a journey through a strange new > world, leave all thoughts of the world you knew > before...' > > 'Open up your mind, let your fantasies unwind, in this > darkness which you know you cannot fight...' > > 'Touch me, trust me, savour each sensation, let the dream > begin, let your darker side give in...' > > > Very nice vocal Ryan, with lots of character!! > > BTW - You got 'stirs' & 'wakes', in the second line, the > wrong way round; intentional? > > | |
