Brief mention of Jim in Michael Coveney's blog. Apparently he & Cameron Mackintosh 'egged on' ALW to write Phantom 1.

ALW has signed up the Hairspray director (Jack O'Brien) to direct Phantom 2, but still no word on the lyricist(s).
Although unlikely, would love to see Jim contribute (some) lyrics to this project.
