| Dion's worth a fortune (even back then), and asking for a share of the writer's publishing, was considered greedy, tacky and totally out of order, almost bordering on blackmail. Probably her husband's idea, and I wonder if they are still doing it. If she loves a song, and wants it on the album, then the writer (known or unknown) deserves his/her royalty and shouldn't have to split it (he/she's already giving a slice to his/her publisher). I wonder if she wanted 'Sacred' on 'Let's Talk About Love', but had to relent to her husband? It would have been one of the few gems, in a very average album. Funny how they get greedy, and then the song quality starts to tail off, ever since? She's relying so much on covers nowadays. > Cheeky, yes, but a very canny business sense, I've gotta > say.
