Hiya Justin.

I'm totally with you on the whole Politically Correct business of rewriting our beliefs and values in line with some sort of sanitised version of the world, and I totally agree it should be resisted wherever possible.

However, when you belong to a community (such as the Rockman) where the whole reason for it's existence is to celebrate a common interest in and enjoyment of Jim Steinman's music, then I don't really see why you would want to go out of your way to try to antagonise other members of that community. That isn't being anti-PC, it's just plain rude and unpleasant in anyone's language.

Some of the comments in the Heath Ledger thread below clearly upset some posters - fair enough, the point was made, people's opinions differed, everyone had their say. Why then start a deliberately provocative thread like this one, other than to stir things up again? Makes me wonder what some people want the Rockman to be like - a welcoming place for all of the many, varied weirdos who love Jim's music, or a smug little clique for a small selection of egos who have been around here the longest and so assume that they own the place...

Oh, and the joke WAS funny the first time I heard it, back when Elvis died.
