| It's just as bad in America for the Brits wanting in. As you said, closest ally, closest cultural history - treated like shit and even fingerprinted when visiting. Float ashore, run across the border pregnant or simply arrive and refuse to leave and you'll get less hassel and more aid than an honest member of the UK that simply wants to live here. It's a total sham and the closer you get to it, the more obvious it is. I don't expect it to go smoothly based on all of the trouble I get every time I visit. I'm treated like a liar when I'm telling the total truth. I fell in love with a British guy and I come to see him when we can afford the time and travel. It's that simple. Aside from using the public wastepaper bins - I use no public services.
