My 2 cents. Saw 1 was pretty good. It was made on a shoestring budget. It worked real well, cause the concept was pretty original, and the execution was even better. Yeah, the ending got me.
Saw 2 was not as good. Hiring Donnie Wahlberg as the lead was a mistake, but probably what they could afford. Losing the original director showed. But, the ending got me on this one too.
Saw 3 & 4. The serious forgets what the original premise is and just creates "unique" was to kill of folks. The twists become for confusing because I think they're reaching. Everybody expects a twist ending to the Saw movies.
Well, we get 5 and 6 coming, which I doubt will be much better. It is a smart franchise because they're cheap to make and always bring in dollars at Halloween time. Luckily, most people don't care if they're good, as long as their gross. The most profitable of the "torture porn" genre.
