TdV would still come in second to Elisabeth in terms of most popular German musical which has a huge following.
And I'm not entirely sure whether Elisabeth wouldn't have a bigger fan following in Germany than either Phantom or Cats. At least there appears to be a bigger fan following around the principals of Elisabeth than there was with whoever originally sang in Phantom there.
