Mellancamp Writes Ghostly Musical

Weird collaboration of the week? It has to be John Mellancamp and horror writer Stephen King teaming up to write a musical.

The long gestating musical, Ghost Brothers Of Darkland County has finally been finished after years of planning and writing (it was started in 2000).

We’ll reserve judge until it comes out, but rock musicals aren’t exactly the most successful of beasts (in terms of credibility, quality and, with the odd exception, financially) so it’ll be interesting to see how it turns out.

If you’re interested, the story is set around a cabin and some ghosts that sing or something.

And if you really must see it, it opens in Atlanta in 2009 with an eventual eye on Broadway.

- Bat out of Hell the Muscial - Interesting to see if the two musical storylines have a similar theme? -
