The jury couldn't agree on the verdict (it was 10 saying guilty vs 2 saying not guilty). The judge decided that wasn't enough (or maybe he didn't have a choice because it *has* to be a unanimous verdict for murder - I don't know) so declared a mistrial. It all starts over again, with new jury, later this year.
