| Just saw two shows in Berlin to say farewell. Once again it struck me as a great piece of art! All the current last shows are sellouts or packed houses. Have been surprised that they changed bits and pieces for Berlin. Besides a turning "Chagalls Inn" they enhanced some humour, but not like NYC, just parts that were already meant to be funny. As for the music - you can hardly do harm to perfection: Knoblauch shortened did not bother me and it was hardly audiable that the orchestra was downscaled (probaly due to samples?). And the fantastic "new" ending of Braver Than We Are is just what Steinmusic is about to me! It got screaming ovations right away. Not the best cast IMO. Borchert has never been a good Krolock to me, too much opera, less rock. Just Jahnke as Abronsius is top level. Some (not up-to-date) excerpts from Jims profile in the programme, which still contains Jims pic in flames: " ... Meat Loaf ... The current joint(!) production, Bat Out Of Hell III, The Monster Is Loose, promises to repeat the pasts success." "Currently he works on a stage spectacle, "Bat Out Of Hell - Live On Stage", which shall be staged in a specially designed theatre. The show will include Motorcycles, BMX-drivers, skateboarder and an international dancing ensemble. In addition the "Bat Out Of Hell"-inspired fashion "Bat Noir" and the parfume "Nuit Noir" shall be licensed and sold. By now 5 Million people have seen the show worldwide (source: European production comapny Stageholding). Some of us here will make this number increase on sunday - have fun!
