Don't know anything about Neil Diamond but there's a 7 page interview with Stevie Nicks in this month's Q Magazine where she says she's currently working on a new solo album. It sounds from the interview as though there's even a possibility of her doing something with Fleetwood Mac next year as well. I'd quite like to hear her singing Jim Steinman stuff but I haven't heard anything she's done recently so I'm not sure how her voice has aged. (Although surely it can't have done a Meatloaf...) > If they do a concept album, I hope it won't be anything > like the Whistle one which tried to serve every taste from > Easy Listening to elderly rock and underage pop fans. Yeah... that was a bit... um... diverse... I still prefer Meatloaf's version of "No Matter What" over Boyzone's, regardless of how much money that single netted Jim. I think it's the opening bit I find most nauseating, although none of it has that wow factor you normally get from Steinman-produced songs. I also hate the way it forced me to go out and buy a Boyzone CD three years after I thought I'd got over that phase. Ali | |
