| > Why should you hide what a show is about? Agreed. If Jim has faith/belief in what he's written, then why disguise/deceive the public? I can understand why the show is now called 'Bat Out of Hell' as opposed to 'Neverland' ($£$£$), but I do think the poster should have some reference to what the story/show is about...either a subtitle/tagline (Adventures in Neverland) and/or some image (a hook, tinkerbell, flying motorbikes etc etc). This way you maximise the demographic....the theatre go'ers 'cos it's a new musical, the Meat Loaf fan base for 'Bat Out of Hell', families for Peter Pan, and teenagers for the 'spectacular' elements of the show (motorbikes, bmx, skateboarders, lasers etc)...not to mention the 'Cirque de Soleil on acid' crowd? The many theatre incarnations of Peter Pan over the years in London still do great business, especially with families (particularly at Christmas). The image on The Agency Group site looks more like a (great)logo, as opposed to a show poster, and I think the heart should at least be dripping blood all over 'epic rock spectacular'? I thought the London WDTW poster was great, as it contained many elements of the story...the dark shadowy criminal holding the gun & forming the shape of a crucifix (really clever), the overhead freeway, the motorbike, the neon lights, the deep red sunset etc etc. > I don't think the general public are going to fully understanding the Peter Pan connections in the songs. Well hopefully they will get the promo right (TV ads, posters, Jim doing interviews) to make this clear. | |
