The devil and the gravestones and the Harley from Hell are just expressions of that. Look at the way it bursts out of the ground. That's a very extreme thing. Look at "Back Into Hell" and the guy is soaring down from the heavens, at top speed, about to crash into a Giant Bat on a futuristic Empire State Building. I can't think of a greater extreme on any other cover art for any other pop album. TMIL cover-art is just a lame impersonation, IMO, whereas "Back Into Hell" beautifully parallels the "Bat Out Of Hell" cover art. The gravestones become giant buildings. The graveyard is dead. The city is dead. The bat's on top of a steeple. The bat's on top of a skyscraper etc. | |
