LOTR is at Theatre Royal Drury Lane (not actually in Drury Lane, just off) until end of June 2008, when it makes way for the new Oliver production.

However, Oliver does not start previews until December (opening Jan'09), so LOTRings leaving is a bit premature?

Gone With The Wind is at the New London Theatre (previously home to Cats for about 18 years), which is actually in Drury Lane. I'm not likely to see this and it got terrible reviews (too long, poor songs, poor scenery etc etc).

Producers are trying to prolong the misery with a new ad campaign (shades of DOTV?).

Incidentally, the New London has got to be about the worst theatre in London (to look at). It is basically a grey concrete block, with an uninspiring lobby/entrance, and a piss-stained NCP underneath. Horrible!

BTW - I did go into the Apollo this afternoon, on my way back through (I walked from the plaza at Covent Garden to Imperial Wharf at Chelsea...about 6 miles)!

Box office staff stated that Wicked was booking until end of April 2009, and that they had heard the rumours about Bat but (unsurprisingly), knew nothing else.

If Wicked extends beyond April 2009, I'm not sure where Bat might go. Palladium, Palace & Dominion could be possibilities.

We Will Rock You has done great business at the Dominion for nearly 6 years, and the theatre owners may fancy another 'fresh' rock musical (sorry 'epic spectacular') to take over?
