Yes its true that the lyrics dont fit in anywhere in the story. But they are perfect to make a brilliant ending. Just imagine hearing those first piano notes and eventually heading to a climax where the whole cast is singing the chorus. Its simply the best song to end such a great musical. I am of course refering to the original Steinman version which is 10 ten times more powerful than the Bat 2 version.
