I've had an idea for (about) 2/3 years now. I've never gotten round to brainstorming or even outlining but I know the basic story in my head. I think it was "The Phenomenology of Excess" that said Jim envisioned "Dead Ringer" as a concept album following one man's obsession that results in murder. Combined with a show I once saw in Melbourne (which, at one point, the lights turned bloodshot red in one of the most startling stage effects I've seen) I've been interested in doing this. The 8 songs would be included with the final lines of "Dead Ringer" (sung very darkly) underscoring the murder and "Everything Is Permitted" as the culprit is dragged away. "I'm Gonna Love Her", "More Than You Deserve", "I'll Kill You..." and "Read 'Em And Weep" would be insights into his mad obsession. I just think this album is very deep and almost terrifying to a degree. The album's production obscured so many possibilities. I'd love to get permission for this, and the closest I've come I've always been too scared to ask, just to write it and have someone produce it. No one's interested down here unless it's been done on Broadway, grr, but other countries go crazy over Jim. Just to rearrange the music on a theatrical "Broadway" level would be magnificent.

"Dead Ringer" has the potential to make "Sweeney Todd" look like "Annie"?
