I'm starting to agree with you on this. I think I have an anti-Meat Loaf bias, probably because of his last album. Everything he does, now I suspect there is 'fraud', 'hackery', 'imitation' and 'deception' behind it. Your reasoning about this song is probably correct. A lot of songs have a small number of words, or maybe a single sentence, that are like the 'main lines'. CHSIB and WYSNAA have similar 'main line'. But it's a sentiment different songwriters could arrive at independently.
