I went to see Celine Dion last night in Berlin and I must say I was pretty impressed with her singing, which was really spot on. I was looking forward to listening to "It's all coming back to me now", which was the fourth song, I think, that she played.
Days before, I had checked out the song's version "It's All Coming Back To Me" at Caesar's Palace's Colosseum in Las Vegas(2007) on youtube which stops at 3:40. Well, guess what? In Berlin now, Celine did about 3:30 minutes of the song and just when I thought "wow, this is a real treat, seeing a Steinman song performed by somebody who can actually sing" - the song changed into "Because you loved me", or some other non-Steinman song. I wish she would have done a little bit more than that. And although she had some dancers with her, none of the great ballet stuff from the Las vegas video was going on. By the way, am I the only one that was reminded of Sarah's dream sequence of TdV when seeing the Las Vegas clip? Either that, and/or they indeed kept the Wuthering Heights inspiration in mind when putting the show together.
