I don't think McCain's a Bush clone, but he's stuck between a rock and a hard place. He wants to be nearer the centre than the right, that's where he'll get the votes, but he's been drawn too far over the right where he's not comfortable and which will inevitably be a losing strategy for the Republicans. He needs to quit the comparison between Obama and Carter, most of voting America aren't as old as McCain and have no clue what he's babbling on about.
Just watched the ImVotingRepublican.com advert, and although they seem like a bunch of far left loons like moveon.org I think the ad is quite effective.
According to realclearpolitics.com which averages out all the polls that are out there (well the normal ones anyway) Obama is ahead of McCain. I'm surprised he didn't get a big post-win bounce, I think the Hillaryites are still crying, especially that miserable old hag that's been on Fox a few times.
