| Yeah I'd say this is an Australia-only phenomenon. And I'd ALSO say that the devious arse-clown record execs / marketing department behind it has done it because invariably the "special edition" of any iven release is very very rarely released domestically here in Australia, So it's a complete fucking kick to the teeth! And the most disgusting part is places ike HMV and JB that regukarky stock imports to fill the holes in a given artists' section end up with the ACTUAL special edition w/ CD+ DVD and swanky packaging etc, next to the normal release labelled SPECIAL EDITION!!! I've been meaning to do my nut about this to someone for a while.
