Rob Evan came to me!

Yeah, I wish...

Point is, I got to go see Rob Evan and others sing a show called Bravo Broadway near Cleveland on Sunday night. It was a wonderful collection of songs from various musicals over the years.

Couple of points of interest - in Rob's bio, he is listed as a singer in Dream Engine. Present tense. Gods only know how old this bio is so I'm not really reading too much into that, just thought it was interesting. Mostly I was just glad he had finally taken DOTV out of there.

Speaking of which...about the middle of the first act, he came out and said that the next two songs would be from songwriters mostly known for their pop songs. The second would be from The Lion King.

The first?

He started by saying it had first been a hit in 1983 and my little Maniac heart already started to go pitter patter.

He quickly added that it had once been called Vampires in Love. Oh god, I thought...he isn't. He even went on say, "I bet you can't tell me what musical it was from."

Unfortunately, he was standing on the other side of the stage from me and couldn't see me half-heartedly holding up my hand. Nor could he hear my best friend whispering, "she does!"

So yes, he and one of the women (Susan Egan, a stick figure with a voice as thin as her frame) sang Vampires in Love. I'm pretty sure I was the only one there who knew those lyrics to that song and for me, it was the highlight of the show.

Also unfortunately, it was an outside venue so stalking opportunities...errr...meet and greet opportunities were not to be had. We tried but couldn't find him. Oh well.

Just thought y'all might be interested :)
