Blind as a Bat is quite a common saying. I doubt the makers of Batman Forever would have the capability of inspiring song writers at all. That was a dreadful film in my opinion. As was Batman & Robin. The next new one should be good.
All the songs often based on popular sayings: "Bat out of Hell", "Objects", "Took the words", "2 out of 3" etc etc.... Meat and Steinman are simply cliche heaven. It's what I like about the songs.
