| I'm with Markus. I actually love this album; I consider it a lost power pop / rock classic that I wish more people knew about. I also own a live album from Watershed and their follow-up to "Twister," "Star Vehicle," which is also quite good. I've been meaning to pick up their other albums - they've put out several indie records over the years, but I keep putting it off. I would say "Twister" is equally as good, although stylistically different, as Green Day's "Dookie," and much better than Hootie's "Cracked Rear View," two albums which dominated around the same time as "Twister" was released. I think its a shame they couldn't get airplay. I met the band after a show in Boston in '95, and they indulged me by fielding my Steinman queries for upward of 20 minutes. I've lost the specifics with time, but the gist was: Jim was a really cool guy who would pop into the studio from time to time and help them out of jams (whatever that exactly meant.) "You wonder where we stand, I just say 'here for now' 'cuz I don't need you, but I need you around. And if I can't make promises that I can't keep, I can't promise anything you'll believe." Watershed, "Consolation Prize, from "Star Vehicle" > I think the songs and the production is much better as on > their big hit single from years later. > > Markus. | |
