Why should they compare it to anything. When you watch shows like American Idol or X factor they prefare people to put their own stamp on the songs and they are usually the people that progress.
So if some1 comes in and does a song that they havent heard and does a good job and it's in tune and a good pitch. Are they not gonna put them fru because they have 'nothing to compare it to'???
Plus I think its better that some1 does a tune that they might not have heard because I think they will listen more. Other wise they sometimes sit back and their facial expression cries "god, not this again"
AND how do you know that these 'new' songs of jims havent been put out in certain circles??
