Hmmm... I've never felt that I've been unfair to Jim. I just have to be honest about what I see. I love Jim's music to bits. I wouldn't ever want to hurt the guy, but this is a place for us to discuss his music, not a place like MLUKFC to stroke someone's ego. I pretty much echo Justin's sentiment that Jim may bee seen as a has been by record execs... doesn't mean he can't pull it out.

My intent here is never to hurt Jim... but it isn't like Jim is here talking to us every day. I hope there are new songs in the Bat Musical. I would love to be wrong.

But if everyone here is going to temper everything they say with the knowledge that Jim reads this board then it will become another freaking MLUKFC.

Of course people are going to feel that there is no movement on the musical. Everytime we get a hint of anything it is taken down. Not everyone is aware that it might take years to mount a musical... but the Rinkoff approach to publicity does not work in the Internet day and age. Takle a cue from Peter Jackson, Kevin Smith and George Lucas. Embrace and update the fan base.

People (maybe Jim included) think I am negative or heartless about Jim. I'm not. I think he is the greatest composer to have ever lived. I listen to his music 90% of the time I listen to music. I used his music in my wedding. I have listened to Neverland hundreds of times and dreamed of staging it. Jim's music is the most moving influence in my life. But that doesn't mean I won't comment honestly on whatever I see... even if I'm wrong.

This is just a fan forum after all...

Jim sounds very depressed right now. With the musical not being met by the reaction it deserves. I think calling it Bat out of Hell may have been a mistake as it leads everybody to expect another Mama Mia or We Will Rock You... but it was probably a necessary evil to get the $20 million funding. Perhaps he should have gone with a smaller budgeted show. If you've got producers invested for $20 mil they are going to expect to: 1) have their fingers in the pie creatively, which is never good... and 2)Expect Jim to come up with meaningless pablum for the masses.

Ah well... as Justin says... I never meant to hurt Jim if I did... and when I look in the Mirror I don't see Justin... just an endless army of mirrors reflecting themselves to blindness and then death.
