Wagner's writing is similar to Jim's blog postings. It just sounds like Jim's voice -- there's a casual ornamentalness to it. It's like listening to a wine tasting sophisticate who never lost the directness of his youth growing up in a smaller town... or something. The sense of humor is very similar, too. Jim is funny guy, but in a way that's not completely contemporary. There's also a disregard for typos that seems to be a signature. You're correct that we -- myself included -- are just assuming away, but my guess is that the poster is, in fact, Jim Steinman.
