Well, in reviewing this question, this presents a problem. What songs of Jim's really feature guitar? I mean, sure there's probably stuff where he just twiddled controls (two Eighties albums worth of Bonnie's stuff aside from the six songs of his between them, maybe the Billy Squier album) that has guitars, but Jim writes with piano, so naturally his songs are primarily piano-based. With that in mind, only a few songs Jim actually wrote would qualify, either for guitar solos or songs where guitar is prominently featured: Bat Took the Words All Revved Up (would also add a little something if the sax solos were re-done as guitar lines, as they were live by Meat's band until Dave Luther was hired...I recommend basing it on Bob Kulick's solo from the Seventies show) Paradise BFG (either BFG or TMIL version would work, as both have discernible guitar solos) Stark Raving Love (simply for the end solo alone...I pity any player on "Expert" mode) OOTFP (again, either BFG or BAT 2 would work, both have good guitar action) Original Sin All Coming Back (PB version, hands down) It Just Won't Quit (PB version is more likely) Life is a Lemon Everything Louder Land of the Pig (Steve Vai does a good solo, let's face it) Break It (that slide guitar throughout is big) Seize the Night (yeah...the guitars are big on this one too) Would this then tend to be over-promoting Meat a bit? Yeah, but what other time does Jim use guitars less than sparingly? > Wow, I came on to ask a question to the gang yesterday but > was in such shock that Jim had blogged I wanted to take > some time off to create a truly profound post... then I > changed my mind again and decided to ask my initial > question. > > I was looking over set lists for the upcoming Rockband and > Guitar Hero games and noticed once again no Steinman > represented.
