Steinman finally writes the 'neverland' thing up as a musical and using Meat would be aiming it at the WRONG???! audience? What the fuck is the right one then?

That's not logic, that's burying your head in the sand and shouting La la la.... at the top of your voice.

Wasn't something like ALL of Meat's stuff that's worth buying based somewhere around Jim's 'neverland'?

Don't underestimate the majority of Loafers who know that to be the case. Don't underestimate loafers for not realising that he struggles on-stage nowadays also. Even at his peak Meat-watching was always a hit-and miss affair. It's a mixture of nostalgia and the will to be entertained that has people turning up - not the prospect of a virtuoso performance. It still represents about the only opportunity to see a Steinman set performed live. Since when was a rock gig about perfection? It would seem that in Jim's words that you still have a HELL OF A LOT TO LEARN ABOUT ROCK AND ROLL!!!
