I think Jim should write and produce three entirely new songs for her. One should be a country ballad and one should be marketable as the "sequel" to Total Eclipse of the Heart. I'll leave the third one up to his imagination. Speaking of old ladies who can sing - Jim should work with Ann Wilson (of Heart). How about a mother/daughter duet recorded by Ann Wilson and Jennifer Love Hewitt? I'd love to hear something where Ann's voice is excited and haunted by reliving her own mistakes of the heart through her daughter. Jennifer Love Hewitt's voice can be naively passionate and adventurously vulnerable. We always see portraits of men who have "issues with women" in popular culture, but I'd love to hear this song from the perspective of women who have issues with men. Something dysfunctional ala Loving You's a Dirty Job, but a new song! I'd also like to hear him do a humorous novelty song with Vin doing the lyrics. I could see that getting some pretty good press. Famous songwriter holds online competition via a youtube or web-based talent competition to find a collaborator. It could all be done reality TV style. It worked for Journey recently. How about developing a musical-based on the life of Francine Farmer, an attractive young entertainer who suffered from mental illness and may have received shock therapy and a lobotomy as a vehicle for Brittany Spears. Farmer's breakdown in the hotel near her house and the issues with her parents seizing her assets and using the courts to control her life and restrict her freedom would be perfect for Spears. Kind of depressing stuff, but can you imagine the "Lobotomy song" with the doctor swinging his little hammer... -=John Galt=- > With such massive sales and airplay for her 1983 smash > Faster than the Speed of Night, it's no small wonder the > albums preceding and following it get little attention by > comparison.
