I have to remember the "doomed romance" phrase, that's neat. I just listened to the "Sisters of Mercy" song before I read your post. If the band Sisters of Mercy really took their name from that song (and not just from *any sisters of mercy*), at least we could establish some sort of a Leonard Cohen-Jim Steinman connection. :-) I couldn't think of one before.
