| I absolutely love Weird Al's work. He really is a genius with lyrics and a lot of his original music is great too. Problem is, for him to be succesful he needs to rely on contemporary American pop music which even just going by his takes on songs definitely seem to have lost quality since hi "Running with Scissors" album (10 years ago). The RnB/Hip hop/Rap scene is just not interesting to me and this is what 99% of American chart music appears to fall in to. :-( I'm personally glad the country scene will always remain super popular in the USA. It's something we don't have over here in the UK that much. Last song I thought was brilliant from Yankovic was "Don't download this song". Check it out. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Yz-grdpKVqg Check out "Running with Scissors", "Al in a Box" and his live DVD for some gems in my opinion. He's fantastic and a shame he doesn't come over here more often as I definitely would like to see his shows. He is not that popular in the UK and have had to buy a lot of his albums via import. > Love him or hate him, "Weird Al" Yankovic has been making > popular parodies and original songs since the 1970s. > > His latest single, "Whatever You Like", a parody of the > current U.S. #1 hit by T.I., was released today on iTunes. > It is about the declining state of the economy. > > For those of you who want to hear it, but can't use the > iTunes store, Weird Al has uploaded it to YouTube: > href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRVi0paZlfI">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRVi0paZlfI | |
