The only Jim song that sounds "pop" is that "Happy Ending" he wrote for Yvonne Elliman. It's a bizarre transition point between the psychedelic jangly guitar stuff from The Dream Engine and the epic stuff he would write later.
Anyhow, my favorite almost-pop Jim song is "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth."
