Just like Will said: It all depends on your MIDI equipment. A MIDI file is actually just a collection of commands what type of event to play with which parameters (e.g. which note at which position for how long with which velocity etc.). You can execute these commands on various devices and the sounds you hear will always be the sounds that are provided by the device in the first place. It's a bit like having the same text recited by different people -- every person will use their own voice. Thus the same text will sound different "on" each person. Summa summarum: Well sounding device = well sounding MIDI, bad sounds = bad MIDI playback. | |
