Pretty much. Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with the 1989 version of the CD, and from what I recall, the remaster is mostly louder.
A while ago, I posted something on my weblog about the Zimbabwean LP version of Bat II. I thought on following it by complaining about modern CD mastering, and prepared a clip comparing the 1993 CD with the 2006 remaster. Since that remaster was done by the same person who did Original Sin, it might be a reasonable alternative, as I don't feel like digging through a box of CDs at the moment.
