Hey guys, I know Jim is a big cat person and I know there are some animal lovers here so I wanted to share some information in case any of you guys are interested in helping out.
There is a man named Eddie Lama who runs a large animal shelter in NY. Unfortunately thanks to the bad shape of the economy and some poor planning he has a very serious issue that will result in the closing of his animal sanctuary.
There is an immediate need to raise $30,000 which is owed in back taxes. If the money is not paid, the sanctuary will go to auction and all the property, worth about $250,000, will be lost. You can read Eddie's plea and make donations at www.oasissanctuary.org
Eddie's dedication rescuing animals in need for an entire decade, the impact his movie The Witness that earned him the Courage in Conscience Award has made, and the tireless efforts to make a difference for those who cannot speak are an immeasurable contribution. I saw his movie and it really had a tremendous impact on me. I am a big time cat person myself and commit my time to a cat rescue that just accepted 18 new cats from Eddie's sanctuary.
