Well, apparently that's been the same issue with "Rebecca" (which you can hear evidence of in the original English demos.) The Broadway producers have brought in Christopher Hampton to work on the English script (whether that includes lyrics or not, I'm not sure. I'm also not sure what his exact lyrical role was on "Sunset Boulevard" with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Don Black and "Dracula" with Frank Wildhorn and Don Black.) I hope "Rebecca" succeeds. It would probably remind English audiences that they well and truly fucked up "Dance Of The Vampires" and that you can have a successful American translation of a hit Euro phenomenon.

I've always wanted an English "Tanz" but, that said, I want the lyrics like "Sweeney Todd". The best "Tanz"-related script I have seen is Jim's version from 2001. It's been nearly 6 years since I first read that and I'm still in awe of it. I wish it could be produced, exactly like that, just once. I just want to see how it would be done.
