| Speaking as a fan who has had contact with Jim off and on, and watch someone pull out the "cease and desist" story again--I don't know who writes that act, I never received any such thing verbally or in writing, he's very...different on the phone. You can tell it's him by the voice, but he sounds older. I made the mistake of trying to guess when he'd be awake (yes, he's still very much a night person), and I'm told that usually I guessed wrong. If you try to maintain contact, uh...don't--generally you'll get an answering machine (that story about him unplugging the phone ringer is probably true), and besides, it's better to keep one's heroes at a distance. Sometimes you learn things about them, true or untrue, that you'd wish you hadn't. > All I want is have a phone conversation with Jim Steinman. > Sounds childish, I know, but still thats what I would > really want. I dont care if its 1 hour or 5 minutes. I > just want to talk to one of my greatest idols. > > Anyhow, happy Holidays Steinmaniacs!! | |
