Markus, I tried to avoid that, cause I am tired of all the negativity from people who have not been there or judge from distorted mobileclips on youtube.
I was actually wondering nobody blamed him yet for being excited about the new songs. Some here usually expect him to say that his upcoming stuff will suck because its not written by Jim (which I would kill for to happen).

And yes, Meat is a reall live act and he gets hoarse towards the end of tours. So there is always the risk of catching him not on top of his game, which you experienced yourself when attending.

To answer your question: the 3 gigs I saw in the US last week he just sounded magical! Think of the 1993 Cardiff radio broadcast (from the first European Bat II concert) to get an idea.
Someone described it perfectly: "In what fountain of youth did he jump to do three shows in a row like that?". No cheating BTW. Even Patti Russo had to step back as he was so much into it that he did screaming and held notes in her spots at times.

Be assured: the voice was there in all its glory!

On a personal note: as much as I love both the men, Meat still gives me my drug music whereas I seriously suffer from Jims creative absence (and I am not talking clothes). But that is another topic. Creativity probably cannot be pushed and I will always be gratefull for the music he has already given.
