i get what you mean.
i've thought about this before, trying to come up with a compilation of Stein-sound-a-likes and never really came up with anything. for some reason Berlin's Take My Breath Away (musically at least), sounds like a possibility.
recently heard The Killers' When You/We/whatever Were Young and that kind of reminded me of Jim and Springsteen.
maybe Kate Bush - Wuthering Heights?
