If you watch the "Classic Albums: Bat Out Of Hell" documentary, Todd Rundgren (the producer - speaking about the songs) said: "If you know Jim, you'll know that he has never experienced any of these things."

It is amazing because both the lyrics and the music can be so passionate. I still get goosebumps when I hear the introduction of many of the songs. More than three decades later. There is no doubt in my mind that Jim understands romantic love, even if he has never experienced it.

Can we say the same thing about Michael Jackson? I think his marriage was a publicity stunt. And yet he is so passionate when he sings love songs.

The other day, Pudding was talking about someone being married to Jim in a past life, when Jim was a cat. I'm not sure how anyone can know what Jim's past incarnations have been but perhaps he did experience passionate love in a past life (but not as a cat). His understanding of love is so great, I wouldn't be surprised.
