Bruce, Jim And The Ghost Writer

Someone out there, in cyberspace, has started rumours claiming that the same ghost writer wrote material for both Jim Steinman and Bruce Springsteen. This shadowy figure apparently came up with songs like Born To Run and Paradise By The Dashboard Light.

I noticed that several board members read this rumour on a blog and that they were debating the various possibilities a few days ago.

As proof, the blog pointed out some similarities between Jim's songs and Bruce's songs.

To me, this comparison does not prove that there was a ghost writer.

Firstly, Jim could have ghosted for Bruce or Bruce could have ghosted for Jim. Why does the blog writer think that there had to be a third party involved?

Also, in the BOOH article that I quoted today, it says (talking about the making of BOOH): "using backing musicians such as Roy Bittan and Max Weinberg from Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band."

It is quite possible that there are some similarities if both gentlemen worked on Born To Run and Paradise By The Dashboard Light.

It does not prove that there was a ghost writer involved.

Paradise by The Dashboard Light and Born To Run are both iconic masterpieces. I cannot understand why anyone would want to deny Jim Steinman or Bruce Springsteen the credit they deserve.

I am sorry for bringing this subject up again.

It's a bit too late to reply to the original thread. It was only today that I thought about members of the E Street Band being the reason for musical similarities between Bruce's work and Jim's work. While I was reading the BOOH article.
