| I think Jim was on board as lyricist for Phantom (around'84/'85), but had to abandon the project, as he was contractually obliged to write/produce the second Bonnie Tyler album (Secret Dreams). He even said in a 1998 TV interview, that due to Phantom's success, abandoning the project was 'not a very good decision on my part'. I've always thought 'A Kiss...' would have been more suited to Phantom, than Whistle, and therefore I think they could work great together on a Phantom 2, and this could possibly be a project to put 'The Graveyard Shift'? Having said all that, I much prefer Jim's music to ALW's, so would rather see Jim concentrate on the Bat musical and anything else that features his own music, unless ALW's ego would relent to a co-music credit. In any case, the current vibe is 'cash-in', and Jim may not even like the idea/story. > Whilst Andrew Lloyd Webber was on the set of the musical > stage reality show ‘You’re The One That I Want’ he told > the studio audience that he's considering writing a > sequel to Phantom of the Opera based on an idea presented > to me over a decade ago. > > Wasn't Jim considered as the lyricist for the first > Phantom? and the timeframe of when a sequel was presented > to ALW he was actuvely working with Jim on WDTW. > > Pud | |
